Exploring The Impact Of Brazilian Professional Bull Riders On Texan Fashion
The Cowboy hat is part of the Texas lifestyle. We wear them all year round. Felt hats Labor Day through Easter, Straws in Spring through Summer.
But did you know one of Texas's most famous cowboy hat styles is imported from Brazil? That's right, courtesy of the Brazillian Professional Bull Riders, who have grabbed hold of the PBR and are some of the best in the world.
The wide flat brim was introduced by Brazillian bull riders when they first started competing and taking over the sport.
You will notice the style everywhere: rodeos, bars, and festivals here in Texas. It's a very cool style courtesy of Brazil. Many Cowboy hat styles exist, such as The Gus, Rancher, high crown, low crown, and Taco. But by far, the wide, flat Brazilian brim is the top in style for Texans.
The PBR Tour is big in Texas, so when the riders started adopting the style, the Texas residents adopted it in droves. Now, it is as common as Sweet Tea and Tacos (thanks, Mexico).
The Brazilian bull riders are constantly at the top of the PBR standings, a testament to the hard work mindset and toughness they brought to the USA. According to KFAA TV in Dallas, most PBR riders from Brazil live in the Dallas, Texas, area.
If you haven't tried the style yet, this Spring and Summer are the best times to do so. The Brazillian Pro Bullriders are so popular that Portada reports that American Hat Company, based in Bowie, Texas, has made Ambassadors of the top Brazillian Bullriders.
