My family has been through a situation where we needed friends and family. Our family had to evacuate our home as flood waters came barreling down on us. Since we lived 50 feet from the river, our trailer was a total loss. I've no memory of it since I was only two at the time, but I've never liked rivers.

Most people look forward to Fridays. One Central Texas family might not fit in that category for a little while.

KWTX is reporting that a Killeen family became homeless due to an early morning fire on Friday.

Killeen firefighters responded to a call from the 900 block of Cloud Street around 2:35 a.m. When they arrived they found the front of the house engulfed in flames. Parts of Rancier Street and Cloud Street were closed to traffic while firefighters battled the flames.

Thankfully the residents escaped safely. It's being reported that the fire officials are calling the home a total loss. They are still investigating the cause of the blaze. Again, no injuries were reported. That's the most important part right now.

Red Cross will be helping the family.
