I think I speak for all the Killeen, Texas when I say we are truly appreciative of all of our educators here who work for the Killeen Independent School District. Their jobs aren't easy under the best of circumstances, and as you all know, the circumstances have been pretty tough over the past couple of years. Now the district is looking to recruit more hardworking and dedicated people.

WE ARE IN NEED OF EDUCATORS HERE IN THE KILLEEN DISTRICT

Last December, we had an enormous amount of people resign at KISD, which truly affected a lot that went on in the classrooms. At one point the Killeen school district was asking parents to come in and volunteer as educators.

I’m very happy to announce that KISD is looking to hire, and will host a job fair on June 2 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Harker Heights High School. District representatives say the pay will be competitive, with a starting salary of $56,160 the first year teachers. There is a healthy pay scale for teachers with more experience, the district says.
