Killeen ISD Officials Ask TXDOT to Investigate Barbecued School Bus
Nothing says Friday like a flaming school bus!
KISD Officials are VERY thankful that no students had climbed on board a school bus that caught fire on Friday just before rush hour began. Officials are so concerned they have called in TXDOT officials to investigate.
While they do not suspect foul play at this time, the district wants to know right now if there is a mechanical issue with any other busses and to be sure about that this fire needs to be explained down to the last detail or parents, students, and staff will only be worried even more. Superintendent John Craft has called for the investigation along with other staff members.
The bus fire happened just before 7 a.m. Friday. As the bus started to burn the driver of the vehicle managed to pull over in the H-E-B store parking lot at 1101 W. Stan Schlueter Loop.
The driver was not injured as a result of the fire. Killeen ISD Officials believe the bus is a total loss.
