Killeen Leaves Massive Dumpsters Out for Bulk Trash Drop-Off

The City of Killeen is making it easy for you to responsibly dispose of large trash items.

They've placed huge trash containers at the Killeen Community Center, the Killeen Special Events Center, the Lions Club Park Family Aquatics Center, and the Long Branch Park Pool.

These are for FREE disposal of excess garbage and bulk items. That includes things like furniture, mattresses, and building materials. Bagged household waste can be tossed in them too.

What they're asking you DON'T throw in there is tires or vehicle parts, liquids that contain hazardous materials, batteries, rocks, dirt, or explosives.

I feel like that last one should go without saying, but you never know.

With these huge bins spread across town, it should be easy to get rid of your bulky trash in a way that doesn't involve dumping it on the side of some backroad. Not only is that a scummy thing to do, but makes our roadsides and rural areas look terrible and isn't great for the environment.
