Killeen police are working to determine the cause of a crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Highway 190 early Friday morning.

Police responded to a 911 call from the area of 190 and W.S. Young Dr. around 12:25 AM. When they arrived, they found a man lying in the road and a motorcycle lying under an overpass.

A preliminary investigating revealed the motorcycle was traveling east on 190 when it left the road, entered the median between the east and westbound lanes, and jumped off the embankment.

Justice of the Peace Bill Cookie pronounced the 44-year-old rider deceased at 1:08 AM. The identity of the rider was withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
