The Killeen Department is investigating after a man was found fatally shot on Goodhue Drive early Monday morning.

KPD's Ofelia Miramontez reports that officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Goodhue at approximately 12:04 AM after someone called 9-1-1 to report shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid to the victim before paramedics arrived. Unfortunately, the man's injuries proved fatal.

The victim was identified as 58-year-old Kevin Anton Davis. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:27 AM by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.

Davis' remains will be transported to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for autopsy. His death is being investigated by KPD's Homicide Unit.
