Latest On Killeen, Texas Woman Swindling People With Attorney Hoax
Several people recently appeared at the Bell County Justice Complex to witness their alleged swindler be remanded to jail on an increased bond of $100,000 in Belton, Texas with several charges including impersonating a lawyer. The accused is a Killeen woman named Amber Morrison, and among her accusers is another woman named Amber Morrison from Houston, and happens to be an actual licensed attorney.
Among the charges, Killeen's Amber Morrison represented herself as the attorney from Houston to several Central Texas victims, and also defrauded additional residents from Galveston County. One victim, Shirley Esparza, testified today after previously stating that the fake attorney Morrison cost her daughter custody of her daughter's children for a month.
Esparza herself had sought the counsel of an attorney for a lease conflict, and ended up having to go through an eviction. She and her daughter finally caught onto the red flags and joined the numerous accusers.
What's next for the Killeen Amber Morrison?
Well, at this point she's definitely going to need a good attorney, and although I do not know how good of a lawyer the Houston Amber Morrison is, at least she is a real one. Do not imagine she will be taking on Killeen Amber Morrison even if they do share a name.
What would not surprise me is if the lawyer Amber Morrison decides to lead the group of alleged victims in a lawsuit against the Killeen Amber Morrison. Imagine it may be difficult to recoup anything from someone sitting in jail.
