At the Killeen City Cemetery, plot space is at a premium, and there doesn't appear to be any clear answers at the moment.

Killeen City Cemetery Plots

The Killeen Daily Herald is reporting that out of 10,000 cemetery plots at the location, 9,500 are occupied, and the remaining ones have been sold. A Killeen resident claims he tried to purchase a plot last month close to family members buried in the cemetery, and was told that none of the remaining 500 plots were available.

While Janell Ford, Executive Director of Communications for the City of Killeen, has stated that officials plan to expand the property, she did not give any further details about how much land is being discussed or which area was being considered as an addition to the current location. Last month, the Killeen Daily Herald reported that city officials cited the total area of the cemetery as 51 acres, with 29 of those being used for burial plots. Roads, walkways, a pavilion, maintenance building, and main office make up the other 22 acres.

Killeen, Texas has a total of four cemeteries, with one cemetery per 35,128 people, according to countyoffice.org. Besides Killeen City Cemetery at 2408 East Rancier Avenue, there are three others, which include:
