This Killeen, Texas Dog Park is Closed For a Good Doggone Reason
Here in Killeen, Texas, furry babies are just as important to us as our actual babies. The City of Killeen knows that our babies are our first priority, and that is why they've made the decision to temporarily close a local dog park.
KILLEEN DOG PARK CLOSED (FOR NOW)
Mickey’s Dog Park at 2201 E Veterans Memorial Blvd will be closed for a the next three weeks starting on Monday, October 10.
The Ccity of Killeen actually has a very good reason for closing the park.
The closure will allow park staff to overseed the grass for the winter. We all know that our furry babies love going into the dog parks and running amok and enjoying themselves, but those paws and claws can leave some damage and some spots of grass missing at the park.
The process of overseeding the dog park is very important so that we can have nice, fluffy grass and not a whole bunch of mud for our little pals to run around on.
THANK YOU FOR LOOKING OUT FOR OUR DOGS, KILLEEN
The City of Killeen says it will take up to three weeks to complete the process, so please allow the seeds to germinate and get a root in the ground so that we can be a newer and safer place for babies to enjoy.
As an animal lover and a dog owner myself, I just want to let the City of Killeen know we appreciate you taking care of our babies and being concerned for them as much as we are.
