Killeen, Texas is mourning the loss of one of their residents, and the Texas X Riders will be remembering a beloved member of their motorcycle community this Sunday following the tragic loss of a Killeen man in a motorcycle accident just a few days ago.

Upon learning of the passing of 33 year old Steven Sheldon in an early morning crash on Saturday, the Texas X Riders knew they needed to do something to honor the memory of their fellow motorcycle enthusiast, rider, and brother. They have decided to hold a memorial ride this Memorial Weekend on Sunday to say their goodbyes, and remember Sheldon's love of the open road.

According to this KCEN article, riders are asked to begin gathering just before noon on Sunday with plans to be kickstands up at 12:45 PM at the QuickTrip located on Stan Schluetter Loop in Killeen. The ride will make its way onto Interstate 14 and head east towards the Interstate 35 interchange in Belton, and continue north up 35 until reaching a gathering of a second set of riders at the QuickTrip on West Adams in Temple.

Upon arriving at the second QuickTrip in Temple, the groups will merge and begin a ride to the final memorial site near where the fatal accident that took Sheldon's life in the area of State Highway 36 just west of Highway 317. The Ride in Peace will hopefully bring closure to the tragic loss, and serve as the perfect tribute to their fellow rider.
