College football season is just around the corner, which means it's time for preseason predictions.

Both the AP Top 25 and the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll have been released with both containing two Texas teams.

The Texas Longhorns are a top ten team in both polls, with a ranking of tenth in the AP and at number nine for the coaches. The Aggies sit at number sixteen in the AP, but the coaches have more faith in them, placing them one spot outside the ten and the Horns at eleventh.

One of the biggest early-season games will be in Austin, week two when the sixth-ranked LSU Tigers face off against the Texas Longhorns. That is if both teams perform well week one and maintain their ranking.

The Aggies face a handful of preseason top ten teams throughout the season. Yikes the SEC is no joke.

This is the first time the Longhorns have had a preseason ranking in the top ten since 2010. They had a week two ranking at number ten a few years ago, but it did not last long.

Come December we'll see how many local teams make the rankings, let's hope for a couple more.
