Killeen police are investigating an early morning shooting that resulted in one man being taken to an area hospital.

KWTX's Kathleen Serie reports that police were called to the Friends in Crisis Shelter at 412 East Sprott Street around 3:50 AM. There, the victim told police he'd been shot in the 300 block of North 8th Street, then walked to the shelter. He was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple with non-life-threatening injuries. Serie reported that the man appeared to have been shot twice.

Police have not released further details.
