Meghan Linsey Knocks Out ‘A Natural Woman’ on ‘The Voice’ [Watch]
Fans of ‘The Voice’ may have been introduced to Meghan Linsey during her audition several weeks ago, but they truly met her Monday night (March 23). The former Steel Magnolia star’s rendition of "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" is what everyone who watched is talking about today.
Linsey and fellow Team Blake singer Travis Ewing faced off in the Knockout Round, with Ewing choosing “I Don’t Want to Be.” The one-time country star went first, and literally brought one judge to his feet. Pharrell stands partway through Linsey’s song, and she’s not even on his team! One senses he may not have even realized the performance pushed him from his chair, and then one senses some regret that he let her slip away.
Shelton offered a knowing smile as she sang, and later praised her. Christina Aguilera’s face seemed to read: “You get you some, girl!”
In the end, Linsey took the round, as well as the title of favorite to win the NBC reality show. Other singers had equally strong performances on Monday night, but it’s Linsey’s blonde Veronica hairdo that’s on all the recap websites on Tuesday morning. She “finally revealed the full extent of the soul artist she’s trying to be,” Entertainment Weekly says.
Of course country fans know what Linsey is capable of, so we share Aguilera’s sly smile and add our own “Get you some, girl!”
