One Person Killed in Monday Night Car Accident in Killeen, Texas
Another tragic accident in Killeen, Texas has resulted in a fatality. One man is dead and two others were left injured after two vehicles crashed into each other Monday night.
Killeen Traffic Death
According to the Killeen Police Department, shortly after 11 p.m. on Monday, police received a 911 call about a crash involving a red pickup truck and a silver sedan.
The police department press release stated that a red GMC pickup was traveling westbound in the inside lane on East Rancier Avenue when a silver Hyundai sedan in the inside lane of North Roy Reynolds Drive disregarded the red light and struck the pickup.
Traffic Fatality
37-year-old William Jimmie Thompson, the driver of the silver Hyundai sedan, ran the stop light. Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.
Both the driver and the passenger of the GMC pickup were taken to Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights with minor injuries.
The Killeen Police Department says the investigation is ongoing, and no other information has been released. There is no word about drugs or alcohol being involved.
