COVID-19 has once again ruined our weekend plans.

The folks at Johnny's Steaks and Bar-Be-Que in Salado have announced that the Parker McCollum concerts scheduled for tonight and tomorrow have been cancelled. They issued the following statement shortly after Noon today:

After extensive discussion between Parker McCollum’s team and local and state officials, we have decided it is in the best interest of Salado and Central Texas to cancel this weekends concerts. Your safety is all of our and Parker’s teams priority.

We want to thank you for your patience and support. We are going to issue a mass refund. All tickets purchased online will be refunded automatically and those purchased at Johnny’s can be returned for a full refund.

Thank you again for everything, we appreciate your unwavering support!

Stay tuned for updates, we will be back, stronger than ever!

The announcement came just a few hours after Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order closing bars as of Noon today, placing a 50% capacity limit on restaurants that draw over half their income from alcohol sales beginning Monday, and mandating that any gatherings of 100 or more people be approved by local government.

We love heading to Johnny's on a summer night for awesome live music, especially when they feature Texas artists. It breaks our hearts to see this happen, but the folks at Johnny's and Parker's team didn't make this decision lightly and we respect that.

If you bought your tickets online, you'll automatically receive a refund. If you bought them offline, you can take them by Johnny's for a refund. If you have any questions, give them a call at (254) 947-4663.

Whatever you do this weekend, please keep safety and hygiene top of mind. The more we do to help slow the spread of this buzzkill virus, the closer we'll get to preventing cancellations like this.

Thanks to the folks at Johnny's for always making us a part of these awesome shows. We look forward to having a beer and listening to great live music with you again soon.
