Police Identify Man Killed in Head-On Collision Near Gatesville

Police have released the name of a man who was killed Wednesday morning after his pickup truck collided head-on with an 18-wheeler east of Gatesville.

32-year-old Justin Lusk of Gatesville was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and Bone Road. Witnesses told police that an 18-wheeler hauling cars was traveling west on 84 around 5:30 a.m. when it hit Lusk's Chevrolet S-10 head-on. The driver of the 18-wheeler and his passenger were not injured.

The highway was closed as investigators cleared the scene and had re-opened by mid-morning. The crash remains under investigation.
