Winter Can Be Dangerous For Cats

You may not realize it, but just because dogs and cats have fur, it doesn't mean they are protected from dangerous winter weather. The ASPCA says dogs and cats are at risk from the cold and chemicals used by humans to counter the cold temperatures.

Create a Warm Space To Protect Against Winter Temperatures

You do not need a ton of money to create a warm space for your outside pets. Fill up dog houses with straw, not hay. Straw creates air space that allows it to dry, whereas hay clumps up when wet...and stays wet. For cats, rubbermaid,plastic containers with lids and filled with straw can act as a dog house. Clean Up Antifreeze Spills

Antifreeze is a lethal for dogs and cats. The substance has a sweet taste which attracts pets, but causes a horrific death if they consume it. You may want to consider using products that contain propylene glycol rather than ethylene glycol.

Feed the Furry Babies More During the Winter Months
