The Central Texas Marines Organization plans to celebrate the Corp's 240th birthday with a huge breakfast bash.

Tempe's Cultural Activities Center will host the Marine Corps Birthday Breakfast on Saturday, November 14 starting at 7:30 AM. Marines past and present, as well as Navy personnel who've worked with Marines, are invited to enjoy traditional chow associated with field operations, including "S.O.S.": ground beef and gravy served on toast.

The event will take place in the CAC's Strasburger Hall, and will feature guest speakers and a ceremony honoring a member of the Strasburger family fatally wounded at the Battle of Iwo Jima and posthumously awarded the Silver Star.
