Texas Tornadoes

The beginning of the week started off pretty eventful here in the city of Temple. Severe weather and tornadoes tore across the state, causing massive damage and affecting thousands in Central Texas and beyond. Several reports of tornadoes in the Temple area came across platforms like Facebook Texas storm watchers. Reports even surfaced of a tornado by the Temple Mall.

Texas Storm Chasers

Reports from all over the city came out fast and franticly, causing some possible confusion. Individuals reported seeing the tornado by 31st and H.K. Dodgen Loop, which is in the general area of the mall. Despite the low visibility and vast array of tornadoes sirens adding to the panic of the evening, the Texas Storm Chaser actually provided pretty solid coverage. They maintained up to date information, but never mentioned the Temple Mall sustaining damage.

Temple Mall

With all the confusion and mixed information, I decided the best course of action was to verify the status of Temple Mall myself. After speaking with security personnel at the mall, I can verify that the mall in fact DID NOT sustain any damage and is open for business as usual. They seem to be in full function, and the owners seem eager to get the community involved following the purchase of the mall by new owners.

New Businesses in Temple

The Mall was purchased last year by the Koran Retail Investment group after sitting on the market for a year. The mall gained some hype prior to the pandemic with promises of an aquarium that inevitably fell through. Current business owners in the mall are excited about the new ownership and opportunities for new businesses to become part of this chance at revival in Temple Texas.
