Police have released surveillance footage of a man breaking into cars in the parking lot of a Temple hotel early Wednesday morning.

According to a statement from Corporal Christopher Wilcox with the Temple Police Department, the suspect broke into two vehicles in the parking lot of the Best Western Inn at 602 N. General Bruce Drive shortly between 2 and 2:30 a.m. The thief made off with a computer, electronics, tools, and a loaded handgun.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500 or Bell County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-TIPS (local 254-526-TIPS). Information can also be submitted via text message along with the word BELLCO to 274637 or by visiting the Bell County Crime Stoppers website. All information is anonymous and confidential, and a tip leading to an arrest may be eligable for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
