Police in Temple are investigating after a man was shot in the leg Tuesday night while visiting a home on Case Road.

Officers were called to Baylor Scott & White Hospital around 10:30 p.m. after a patient was admitted with a gunshot wound. The victim told the officers he was approaching a friend's home in the 1600 block of Case Road when he heard someone shouting out to him. When he turned, he saw three men in a car, two of whom displayed handguns - the driver and a passenger.

The armed passenger reportedly exited the vehicle and began waving his gun. The victim turned to flee and heard a shot fired. Once he was safely in his friend's apartment, he realized he'd been shot in the leg. After looking outside and finding that the suspect vehicle was gone, the man asked his friend to take him to the hospital.

The vehicle was described as a white four-door sedan with chrome rims. The victim described the three suspects as black males, but said he only got a clear view of two of the men. The driver was wearing a gray hat and gray shorts, while the armed passenger was wearing all black clothing and had dreadlocks.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to contact the Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-TIPS (Local (254) 526-TIPS). Callers may remain anonymous, and a tip submitted to Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
