Temple Traffic Alert – Southbound I-35 at Standstill

Southbound Interstate 35 traffic through Temple was moving at a crawl Friday afternoon after a truck hauling empty trailers lost its load.

The incident happened near Mile Marker 297 at the intersection of Midway and I-35 shortly before 12:30 PM.

As of 1PM, traffic was moving very slowly between the intersection of I-35 and I-14 in Belton and as far north as the intersection of Industrial Blvd and I-35 in Temple.

TxDOT estimated it may take as long as two hours to clear the scene. The I-35 access road remained passable, though traffic diverting to it was causing delays.
