Police are investigating after a woman was shot in the shoulder on South 11th Street Thursday evening.

Officers responded to a home in the 1500 block of S. 11th around 8:10 p.m. There, the victim said she and her boyfriend had gone to the home to retrieve some property and found that a woman and man were already there. The woman appeared to be upset and was reportedly crying, so the victim exited her vehicle to speak with her. The male suspect then reportedly became upset and began arguing with the victim.

The victim's boyfriend then became concerned and exited the car, after which he was struck in the head by the male suspect. The distraught woman then attacked the victim for reasons unclear. As the two women were fighting, the male suspect reportedly apprached with a gun and shot the victim in the shoulder.

The shooter and the other woman fled the scene in a small, silver pickup truck, heading east on West Avenue M.

The victim was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
