
Texas Governor Now Signing Massive Education Bill In Salado Today
Salado, Texas has long been a destination for travel, culture, food, and historical reverence for the state of Texas. Coming up at 3 PM this afternoon, Salado will once again welcome the leader of the Lone Star State, as Governor Greg Abbott is expected to sign a bill into law that will increase the state's investment in education by another $8.5 billion dollars, with $4 billion specifically set aside to increase teacher pay.

According to this KCEN article, there is a very good chance if you cruise by the Salado Middle School a little after 2 PM this afternoon at 1169 Williams Rd., you might be tricked into believing school is still in session, and the parents' vehicles are lining up for the pick up line. Governor Abbott is expected to perform the signing inside the middle school library at 3.

Sometimes when we are celebrating our beautiful region of Central Texas we forget that also includes the capital city of Austin, and it is a real privilege to witness the wheels of government operating outside of the capitol building. Once this new bill becomes law, it will make a significant impact on our education, and should help with teacher recruitment and retention.
