The first round of the 2019 NFL Draft begins tonight and for the first time in ten years, the Dallas Cowboys will most likely be absent, unless a trade occurs. But that shouldn't keep the local fan from tuning in.

There are a couple of local players projected to go in the top ten and then there's the other state team the Houston Texans with the twenty-third overall pick. The Texans are most likely to draft a defensive back or offensive lineman and many believe they could trade up as high as the number eight position (Lions) for  Washington State Tackle Andre Dillard. Players named Andre have had success in H-town before.

Then, of course, this could be the third year in a row a native Texan is drafted first overall with Oklahoma Quarterback Kyler Murrey highly expected to be picked up by the Arizona Cardinals.

Even with Texas Universities and Pro organizations represented lower than usual the Lone Star State is still going to leave its mark.
