Truck Crashes After Leading Killeen Police On Chase

A high speed police chase through Killeen Sunday ended after the suspect crashed into a tree.

The pursuit began around 3pm when the driver of a pickup refused to pull over for a traffic stop. Police chased the speeding pickup until it ran through a fence at the corner of Florence Road and Daffodil Drive and slammed into a tree.

The driver has not been identified, nor have his or her injuries been reported. Charges are still pending. One officer was injured while climbing the damaged fence, but is expected to be alright.
