Two New VA Clinics Set to Open in Killeen and Copperas Cove
Both Killeen, Texas and Copperas Cove, Texas will get new VA Clinics that should be open by this fall.
Great news for Veterans looking for Veterans Affairs medical care a little closer to home, as two new locations should be up and running by fall of this year. Our news partners at KWTX report that Veteran Affairs officials announced that Potomac Valor Healthcare and Primary Care Solutions, Inc. were awarded 10 year contracts for the new locations.
Both contractors are minority and service-disabled Veteran-owned small businesses.
New VA Clinics in Central Texas
The new Copperas Cove location will be at 336 Town Square and the new Killeen clinic will be at 1001 E. Veterans Memorial Blvd., suite 401, the old Midtown Mall shopping center location. Michael Kiefer, Executive Director for Central Texas VA Health Care System said in a news release,
“We are excited to offer veterans primary health care options closer to where they live. Not only will these new VA clinics in Copperas Cove and Killeen offer primary care, but also women’s health services for our growing number of women veterans.”
Potomac Valor Healthcare
Potomac Valor Healthcare, which was awarded the contract for the Copperas Cove clinic, provides health care in about 50 Veteran Affairs clinics across the U.S. and serves more than 165,000 Veterans.
Primary Care Solutions
Primary Care Solutions, which was awarded the contract for the Killeen clinic operates 10 VA community clinics in the U.S. and the U.S. Virgin Islands after opening their first primary care location in Dallas in 2014.
Quality medical care for our Veterans can be hard to find and can result in long drives and long wait times at overcrowded clinics. Adding two new locations in Killeen and Copperas Cove may be exactly what's needed to get the timely services many men and women need in the local area.
