Two Vehicle Crash On 317 Sends Man to Hospital

A man was injured when two pickup trucks collided on an icy bridge Friday morning.

The crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. in the 12,000 block of North State Highway 317. When Temple Fire and Rescue, Temple Police and a Scott & White EMS crew arrived at the scene, they found two the two vehicles with extensive body damage.

During triage, paramedics identified an injured man in the driver’s seat of one of the trucks. The truck’s door was removed using a battery powered combination cutter and spreader and the man was transported to Scott & White Hospital. A news release from Temple Fire and Rescue did not specify his injuries.

The driver of the other truck declined medical treatment.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
