Waco Teen Killed in Rainy Car Crash
News 10 is reporting that a teenager died yesterday morning in a car crash.
Shelby Swinnea, 18, of Waco, was driving on U.S. Highway 84 about two miles west of McGregor around 8 a.m. yesterday when her 2016 Chevrolet Camaro lost control and ended up in the other lane.
Swinnea's Camaro collided with a 2009 Ford Mustang being driven by Tina Zimmerman, 52, of Gatesville.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is reporting that Swinnea was pronounced dead on the scene.
Zimmerman was rushed to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center with incapacitating injuries. There is no update on her condition.
Officials believe the accident was likely caused by the heavy rains that hit Central Texas yesterday.
With more rain on the way, please remember to take your time if you have to drive in rainy weather.
