
Waco, Texas Now Investigating First Murder In Half A Year
Waco, Texas has had its fair share of violent crime over the years with a crime index that puts the city in the bottom 10% of the United States, and property crimes in particular remain a difficult challenge for local authorities to combat. Violent crimes were a major issue at the beginning of 2024 in Waco with the city's first three murders happening on consecutive days in February last year.

Then something very unusual occurred in the Central Texas city, Waco actually went through a very peaceful period and for more than a half year, there has not been a murder, until now. According to this KCEN article, a man that had been shot was reported to Waco Police and was found around 7:15 by first responders, and transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities are still looking for the identity of the unnamed killer(s), and they have also not released the name of the victim beyond he being male and 34 years old. Police are attempting to comfort the public by sharing they believe the shooting to be isolated, and do not suspect there is any additional danger at this time to other residents of the neighborhood.
