Why Does Violence and Trouble Keep Brewing at this Local Club In Killeen?
Police in Killeen keep receiving calls from a local club, where a second person has been fatally wounded this year.
According to a press release from the Killeen Police Department, on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at approximately 2:45 AM, authorities were dispatched to 308 S. 2nd Street the location of Club Legends in response to a shooting victim.
Police are quite familiar with the location, as they've fielded at least 111 calls from the area of Club Legends in the past year.
“Given the amount in reported violence in this particular location, we as the community, cannot allow this activity to go unchecked. The Killeen Police Department will use all the tools at its disposal to ensure the safety of our citizens,” stated Police Chief Charles Kimble.
When officers responded to the latest incident out there, they quickly located several injured people and began providing first aid until paramedics could arrive. Two men and one woman were taken to Baylor Scott and White Memorial Hospital in critical but stable condition. A third man was transported to the Carl R. Darnall Medical Center, also in critical condition. One of the male victims, Darian Nelson Barlow, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 5:17 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.
Berlow's death marks the fourteenth murder for the City of Killeen in 2021 and the second at the location of Club Legends.
The city of Killeen routinely gets a bad wrap, and this is sure to add more gas to a fire already blazing.
