What's Hoots Wings?

Hoots Wings is a fast-casual restaurant with wing options like breaded bone-in, naked bone-in, boneless, smoked, and roasted wings with more than a dozen sauces and rubs.

Get this: Hoots offers over 10,000 possible wing combinations. They'll also feature buffalo shrimp, signature customized chicken sandwiches, and waffle fries.

You may be wondering about the name.

Well, Hoots is owned and operated by HOA Brands, meaning its big sister is none other than Hooters. Unlike their big sister, Hoots doesn't have women dressed in skimpy attire, and boasts a family friendly atmosphere.

"With only a few national competitors and an unmet demand, Hoots wings is ready to become a dominant player in the wing industry," said Sal Melilli, CEO of HOA Brands and creator of hoots wings. "We've built a strong model that is well suited for the trends of tomorrow and years to come, and that has resulted in impressive unit level economics."

Hoots Wings & Texas

Hoots Wings is looking to make a big impact in Texas, targeting San AntonioHouston, Rio Grande Valley, Tyler/LongviewEl Paso and Corpus Christi for strategic growth. Hoots began its Texas expansion with the signing of a 60+ unit deal that secured the Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin metro areas for development.

"Texans have been very loyal to Hooters' food over the years, and the states houses some of our most successful restaurants. We've been hearing from our customers that they're clamoring for more wing options, making the state an ideal option for initial growth,"  stated Melilli.

Hoots wings anticipates opening up to 17 additional locations in 2021, 35 more locations in 2022 and 50 more locations in 2023.

According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, renovation at  2200 E. Palm Valley Blvd., Ste. 125, Round Rock is set to begin towards the end of August.

I don't know about you, but I'm feeling hungry already!

Top 20 Restaurants Central Texans Wish Would Come to Temple

Back on April 30, 2021, I asked the good people of Temple if they could picture a good restaurant to fill the lot on North General Bruce Drive where the soon to be torn down Long John Silver's stood.

This was before it was announced that a Dutch Bros. Coffee location would open there (which was one of the places I predicted as a contender in our article).

So now we know what will go in that spot, but the responses to my survey were interesting because they paint a picture of just how diverse Temple's population is. People recommended some familiar restaurants with locations in the surrounding area, but also a few I'd never even heard of.

Here are the top 20 results of the survey. Let's see what the good people of Temple are craving!
