In September, a 1-year-old infant was found dead along with her 2-year-old brother inside of a Temple home.

According to our news partners at KWTX, Temple officers discovered the bodies of Terric Boyd and Janea Boyd on September 30. The Salvation army initially called police to perform a wellness check after visiting the home located at West Avenue P and South 35th Street.

An initial autopsy on Janea Boyd revealed her death as a homicide that was ultimately caused by neglect. Results of the autopsy for Terric Boyd are still pending.

The children's mother, Terrikah Haynes, was found conscious, but unresponsive inside the home. Terrikah's two other children ages 4 and 6, were also found at the home and were ultimately placed in the custody of CPS.

Haynes was arrested on October 16. Bell County Jail records indicate she remains in custody at the facility in lieu of bonds totaling $150,000. Two second degree felony charges of abandonment or endangerment of a child with imminent bodily danger were listed on her roster sheet Tuesday afternoon.

Officers on the scene reported that the home had no electricity and that the water had been cut off since September 3. The toilet was full of waste and the home did not not have any food or fluids for consumption.

The children reported to police that they had been living on "fruit snacks."

Terrikah Haynes was arrested on October 16, and is currently in the Bell county jail with two counts of child endangerment.
