Thomas Rorie of Temple, Texas is searching for answers after a construction business known as Ground Up G.C is alleged to have took almost $2,000 for a project that never began. Here's what is known at the time of writing.

KCEN Reports On The Beginnings Of The Issue

As reported by KCEN, Rorie first decided to pay for home repairs after continuous rain in the Temple area caused issues. Per Rorie: "There are cracks in my walls and there are dips in the floors." So, not wanting to delay and cause more problems to his home, he went online to Angi's to find the right company.

Rorie made the decision and selected Ground Up GC for the work. Following a meeting with the company, they agreed on the date of August 22nd for the work to begin with Rorie paid $1,825. However, problems began to arise on the day of the beginning.

Ground Up GC Fails To Show Up At Rorie's House

After the company did not show on the 22nd, Rorie reached out to the owner, Raymond Lynwood, asking where they were. As he told KCEN:

"I texted [the owner] and the response I got was that they were two houses away, literally up under a house at the moment...They said they would come on the 26th, which was on a Monday. The 26th came around, and nothing."

Since then, the company hasn't begun the work, nor have they paid back Rorie after he asked for his money back. KCEN reached out to both Angi's and Raymond Lynwood himself. Lynwood hasn't responded to the attempts at the time of writing, while Angi's has stopped the business from talking to potential clients on their website.

Rorie is set to take Lynwood to smart claims court, as reported by KCEN. As this is developing story, we will have more information when it becomes available.
