Copperas Cove Launches COVID-19 Vaccine Interest Survey
It's been almost a year since COVID-19 made its way to Central Texas and upended our lives. Now that a vaccine is here, officials across Texas are working to distribute it to as many people as possible in hopes of finally starting to put this pandemic behind us.
The City of Copperas Cove is working with partners on the federal, state, and local level to plan vaccine distribution to residents, and they could use our help with that.
They're asking that Copperas Cove citizens interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine fill out a short survey so that they officials get an idea of how many doses to have prepared and how many appointments to expect.
"Simply stated we would like to know if you would like to receive the vaccine," Deputy Fire Chief Gary D. Young wrote in a news release issued Thursday by the City. "While receiving the vaccine is a personal choice and is optional, we still need to know who does want to receive it so that we can work hard to get enough vaccine into our community."
Young notes that participation in the survey alone is not a guarantee that you'll receive the vaccine. It's simply a way of gauging local interest in vaccination. You'll want to talk to your doctor or care provider about scheduling an appointment to be vaccinated when the time comes.
"As vaccine becomes available in our community, the City of Copperas Cove will work to share that availability with citizens so that appointments can be made with health care providers who have the vaccine," Young wrote.
City officials ask for only one survey per person, and that those who've already received one or two doses of the vaccine and those who not desire vaccination please not fill out the survey.
If you're interested in receiving the vaccine, you can fill out the survey here.
