Free COVID-19 Vaccines in Salado, Texas Jan. 14-16

If you miss the Rogers event or you need a little something closer to home, you'll have three opportunities this week to get the jab down in Salado.

Nikki Morrow, Interim Director with the Bell County Pubic Health District, informed us Tuesday that they're also teaming up with Texas DSHS for a free vaccination event at the Bell County Rest Area located at 16801 I-35.

As with the Rogers event, no appointment is required, and you don't even need insurance. Just register at the event and they'll have you vaccinated and back on the road in no time. Those 18 and under will need a parent or guardian present.

Here are the dates and times for the Salado event:

  • Friday, January 14 - 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM
  • Saturday, January 15 - 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Sunday, January 16 - 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Hey, it's on a weekend with plenty of time to get out there, so you don't have to take time off or put a big dent in your workday routine.

Free COVID-19 Testing and Vaccines in Temple This Month

If you need a vaccine or just a COVID-19 test, you can get either one for free at Wilson Park in Temple Tuesday through Saturday now through January 29.

The Texas Army National Guard will be set up in the southern parking lot by the football field and softball complex. They'll have both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, and are even offering the boosters. Ages 12 and up are welcome.

You don't have to make an appointment, but they recommend bringing your ID for the rapid test so they know how to get you results to you.

*NOTE* The Temple vaccination and testing center closed early on Tuesday, January 11 due to inclement weather. It will re-open Wednesday, January 12 at 10:00 AM.

Protect Yourself and Others As We Get Through This Together

The vaccine can provide an extra layer of protection to lessen the severity of COVID-19 symptoms should you contract the virus, potentially keeping you or someone you care about out of the hospital.

We should also continue to be courteous and mindful when we're out in public, especially indoors where it's crowded. Mask up in those situations, and give people plenty of space.

Let's put this pandemic behind us already.
