Imelda Death Toll Rises To 4

Tropical storm Imelda may have ended Thursday evening, but it's after-effects will last a lifetime for many.

The Washington Post most recently places the death toll of Imelda at 4.

Harris County officials stated that there were at least 1,700 emergency high water rescues and evacuations. Imelda is the first named storm to hit the Houston area since Hurricane Harvey in 2017. For many, Imelda's damage was eerily similar to Hurricane Harvey.

Thursday evening, a 19-year-old man named Hunter Morrison was electrocuted and killed when he tried to move his horse to safety from the flooding.

On Friday, another man drowned while trying to maneuver his van through 8-foot-waters. The body of a third man was found in a ditch; he is currently unidentified. The 4th victim of Imelda was a 47-year-old man who was found inside his Toyota Prius that was located in a flooded canal.

Please remember in intense storms  to turn around, don't drown! Even if the water does not appear that deep. Our hearts are with the families of the victims of Imelda.
