Killeen Police Investigating String of Storage Unit Burglaries
The Killeen Police Department has released surveillance footage from a recent storage facility burglary, and they're hoping someone out there can help them find two suspects caught on camera.
The September 23 burglary was one of three reported between Sep. 23 and Sep 30. Police say 34 storage units at three separate facilities have been hit. The suspects are believed to be in their teens, and police say they could be driving a maroon Chevy Suburban.
In the video below, a white male wearing a Punisher hoodie and carrying a backpack is seen entering the building and using spray paint to cover up a security camera lens. Trailing him is a shorter black male in a blue hoodie carrying a backpack. Both suspects are masked.
Police are asking anyone who may have information that could help them identify these suspects to contact Bell County Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-TIPS (8477), at bellcountycrimestoppers.com, or via the free P3Tips app for iOS and Android. You do not have to give Crime Stoppers your name, and a tip leading to an arrest could net a cash reward of up to $1,000.
Killeen police are also investigating a homicide case in which a teenager was fatally shot inside a home on Camp Cooper Drive. It happened shortly before 1:40 AM on Friday, September 25.
The victim, identified as 18-year-old Damien Xavier Rocha-Torres, was reportedly inside a room in the home with some people he knew (police have not specified how many). Rocha-Torres' family heard a loud noise from the room and went to check on him. They found him shot, and told police the other people in the room fled through a window.
If you can help with that case, please contact Crime Stoppers using the information above.
