Late Night Shooting in Killeen Takes 1 Life

A shooting took place late Monday evening  at the 3700 block of Dustin Court in Killeen.

According to a press release from the Killeen Police Department, authorities responded to a 911 call at approximately 10:55 pm on March 23.

When officers arrived on the scene they found an unresponsive male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators believe that the victim and suspect were in a verbal altercation before things took a turn for the worse.

The suspect fired multiple shots at the victim and fled the scene. Officers were able to track the suspect down at nearby convenience store, where he was arrested and taken to the Killeen city jail.

Unfortunately, the victim, Michael Wardrobe, 22, did not survive from the shooting and passed away that same evening at 11:22 PM.

During this time of chaos, it's heartbreaking to see lives taken so unnecessarily. Our sincerest condolences are with the friends and family of the Wardrobe's.
