Lost & Found Items From Salado, TX Tornado Can Be Found at The Library

Items found following the EF-3 tornado that went through Salado, Texas on April 12 continue to gather at the Salado Public Library.

KWTX reports that the Salado Public Library has set up a "Lost and Found" hoping to reunite dozens of items lost during the tornado with their owners.

The library created the lost and found following the tornado and since have had a steady flow of items being brought in. The director of the library, Jeanie Lively, tells KWTX, “Military albums, birth certificates, baby albums, you name it, we’ve found it.”  

The library received photos and documents along with other items like stuffed animals, wedding veils, and plaques and decided to make a lost and found corner in the library for those hoping to be reunited with their lost valuables. The library staff says many families have come in to reclaim their belongings, but many items still remain and more stuff continues to show up daily.

Word of Mouth

Many folk may not be aware of the lost and found section at the library, so getting word to those folks is important. The library staff says they will continue to keep the lost and found for as long as possible and currently have no plans for any of the unclaimed items.

If you've lost items during the tornado, the Salado Public Library may have some of those items in their lost and found. They are open Monday through Friday from 10a to 6p and weekends 10a to 5p on Saturdays.

The library is still taking any found items.
