Man Charged With Murder After Weekend Shooting In Killeen

27-year-old Harry Alvin Parsons has been arrested in Round Rock in connection with a Saturday night shooting in Killeen.

Police responded to a call of shots fired at 502 Esther Circle in Killeen shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday and found 48-year-old Veronica Denise Avant dead from gunshot wounds. Witnesses say a man and woman were arguing outside the residence before she left and came back a short time later with a group of people.

One of the people (the arrested suspect, Parsons) allegedly opened fire and chased the man into the home, where he continued to fire shots. The shooter then left, leaving Avant dead. She was the mother of the man who’d been chased into the house by the gunfire.

Police have yet to release a photo of Parsons.
