The holidays are generally a time for tradition, and one local tradition has been going strong in Central Texas for a quarter century. BLORA's Nature In Lights returns to Belton Lake just in time for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve.

Fort Hood MWR reports that the annual outdoor light display at the Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area is set to open for its 25th year on Friday, November 12.

For those new to the area, BLORA is Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area ,and is available for both military members and civilians. The area offers plenty of fun for the entire family, including tent camping, RV camping, plus boating, fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking and hiking, paintball, and an archery range but only people with a military ID can rent cottages, pavilions, or kayaks. Plus any rental costs will be cheaper for military as well.

This time of year, the entire area becomes a huge, drive-through, outdoor light show with bright, colorful displays, some of which even seem to be moving.
