Austin police believe that beef between Killeen teenagers is what led to the mass shooting on 6th street in Austin.

According to a report from the Austin American-Statesman, one of the teenage victims of the gunfire that erupted in the 6th Street Entertainment District early Saturday had been shot in Killeen just two days prior by someone he believes to be Jeremiah Tabb, age 17.

A press release from the Austin Police department states that the Killeen ISD Police Department arrested Jeremiah Roshaun Leland James Tabb for aggravated assault in connection to the shooting incident in the 400 block of E. 6th Street. On Monday, June 14, Tabb was arrested without incident in Killeen while enrolled in a summer school class.

Tabb is the second suspect who was arrested in connection with the June 12th shooting. The first suspect was taken into custody, but since they are underage further details have yet to be released.

According to the arrest affidavit:

The witness was walking around Sixth Street with some friends before the shooting. While walking around, they saw Tabb. The witness said he knew Tabb since middle school.

Tabb was walking with a group of people and the witness said the group continuously stared at him and his friends. Tabb then addressed two of the witness' friends and said, "What y'all wanna do? Ya'll wanna fight?"

A friend of the witness replied: "It's whatever," the affidavit says.

Tabb then pulled a gun from his waistband and the witness turned away and started to run. He then heard gunshots, the affidavit says. The friend of the witness also had a gun and started shooting for their protection, another witness told police.

There were a total of 13 victims who sustained gunshot wounds or were injured. Twelve victims are in stable condition. One victim, 25-year-old Doug Kantor, who was visiting Austin from Michigan, succumbed to his injuries.
