Temple Police Arrest Suspect in June Shooting Case
Temple police have made an arrest in a shooting case from early June.
22-year-old Daekwon Kenyahta Maurice Ricks is believed responsible for a shooting that took place at the Meadowbends apartment complex on Sunday, June 7.
A warrant was issued for his arrest on a charge of second degree felony aggravated assault was issued on July 10 following an investigation of the shooting, and he was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the 500 block of West Avenue H on Saturday, July 25.
Ricks was booked into the Bell County Jail Saturday at 8:28 PM. He remained in the jail Monday morning in lieu of $500,000 bond.
Police were called to the Meadowbends complex around 9:15 PM on June 7. When they arrived, they found a man in the parking lot who'd been shot. He was transported to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple with non-life-threatening injuries.
