Temple police are investigating the death of an elderly man whose home showed signs of forced entry.

As reported by Kathleen Serie with our news partner, KWTX, police were called to the home in the 3600 block of West Adams Avenue shortly before Noon. There, they found 80-year-old Lonnie Taplin dead.

A family member told police Taplin may have had a heart attack. Officers reportedly found signs that one of the home's doors had been entered with force.

An investigation into the incident continued Sunday evening.
