Ten Dogs Killed in East Temple House Fire
Sad news from Temple, where firefighters say ten dogs' lives were lost in a house fire on the east side of town.
Temple Fire and Rescue crews were dispatched to the 500 block of East Avenue I at 7:09 PM Wednesday. When they arrived, they observed flames coming from the corner of a single story wood framed house. Firefighters searched the interior for any human occupants. Thankfully they didn't find any, but, sadly, they did find ten dogs who succumbed to the smoke and toxic fumes.
The fire was under control by 7:25 PM. No human injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remained under investigation Wednesday night.
