Three Killeen pastors are dead after a rollover car accident in Pflugerville.

Senior Pastor Terry Whitley and Associate Pastors Jan Whitley and Steve Timmerman of Grace Christian Center were headed north in a van in the 19400 block of State Highway 130 near Highway 45 around 6:30 Thursday evening when a tire blew out, causing the driver to lose control.

Witnesses said the vehicle rolled in the southbound lane. Jan Whitley was pinned inside the vehicle and passed away at the scene. One of the men was thrown from the vehicle and died, and the man driving the van was taken to a Round Rock hospital where he later died as well.

Grace Christian Center’s website says the three were returning from an airport at the time of the accident. Group activities and events scheduled at the center have been cancelled, and a prayer session will be held Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday services will be performed by a guest pastor according to a statement on the church’s website.

The statement reads as follows:

Dear Family of Grace,

It is with the deepest sorrow that we have to announce the passing of Pastors Terry, Jan and Pastor Steve. They died in a traffic accident on the way back from the airport. Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. we will have the church open for a time of prayer, all other groups and events are cancelled. Dr. Earl Johnson is flying in to do Sunday services. We ask that you keep both families in prayer during this difficult time. We will update you all as more information on memorial services is available.
