Top 10 Most Popular Boy and Girl Baby Names of 2013
Move over Jacob, there's a new #1 baby name in town!
The social security administration just released the most popular baby names for 2013, and there are a few notable change ups on the list. For one thing, the name "Jacob" fell from its number one spot for the first time in 14 years! It's replacement? "Noah". When it comes to girls, "Sophia" held on to the top spot for the third year in a row.
It's pretty easy to analyze why certain names have risen in popularity in the past few years. Celebrities have a huge influence on the list, with actors like Liam Hemsworth and Neeson, and One Direction's Liam Payne on the scene. Emma has been a mainstay on the top 10 for years now, and comes in at number two on the girl's list. Perhaps it's possibly boosted by the popularity of actresses like Emma Stone and Watson? (Or maybe they're all named after my little sister, also named Emma.)
Check out the top 10 below for yourself here:
1 | Noah | Sophia |
2 | Liam | Emma |
3 | Jacob | Olivia |
4 | Mason | Isabella |
5 | William | Ava |
6 | Ethan | Mia |
