Killeen police are investigating after two people were killed in a traffic collision Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to the 5400 block of Trimmier shortly after noon on November 13. When they arrived, they found a Chevy Camaro in the roadway and a Ford Taurus flipped on its side.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the Camaro was traveling north on Trimmier when it struck the passenger side of the Taurus as the latter was attempting to turn east from the southbound lane.

Both occupants of the Taurus – 60-year-old Michael Keith of Chicago and 66-year-old Francine Winbush of Killeen – were pronounced dead at the scene. Two of four occupants of the Camaro were treated at a nearby hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

The bodies of the deceased will undergo autopsy at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas. The Killeen Police Department Traffic Unit is still conducting an investigation, and no charges had been filed as of Monday morning.
